Well of course motive matters, but even if you disagree, let's look at the act. Has wasting millions of dollars sending hundreds of people to Australia helped one disadvantaged person?

Well this illustrates my point. Many people have no idea what she plans to do so shee clearly needs the alf promotion.

Why does everything she does have to help one disadvantaged person? Doesn't commerce help most of us from becoming disadvantaged in the first place? Should we all just stop engaging in commerce because it doesn't help disadvantaged people? What about what she already does for the disadvantaged? Why isn't that enough?

Who cares if she wants to fly people to Australia? MYOB.

Clearly Oprah cares as other posters pointed ou she does many charitable acts. When is enough enough? Why is she squandering millions that can be used to help others? It really isn't politically correct.

By the way I would be happy to mind my own business as soon as the loony left stops telling me what to do.

How is spending money that keeps people employed "squandering" it?

It's hers to "squander" as she sees fit. She has no obligation to spend it how you see fit. Build your own media empire and use the proceeds to solve the world's problems. Until then, MYOB.

Next time some one tells me I'm not paying enough in taxes I'll remember to tell them that.

Thing is, every one of us posting in response to your OP are only giving our opinions. And it looks like many of us don't consider your question "reasonable" at all. In my opinion it's the kind of a question one would expect from a busybody.
