Wikileaks have released some documents that shed light on the veiled secrecy of international diplomacy.

But really nothing earth-shattering.

Just wondering if Assange is set up as a "pansy" for the New World Order?

To apply harsher Patriot Act......

Btw, hows the government liking it being used on them?

How would George Orwell paint it?

Yes. I believe it is. If you look at the Van Jones video, posted yesterday (Top Down Bottom Up Inside Out) it identifies the need to control the Media in order for any real change to occur.

It is also bizarre that all the focus is on Assange rather than on the private who apparently obtained the information. Why isn't there more outrage at how our government can't better protect this "highly classified" secret information? That is where the focus should be. Not on the publishing of it. Something is just not right, here and there is more than meets the eye.

Hopefully, Americans will maintain their cool and not succumb to outrageous calls for more censorship.

If the internet is censored some Americans may mumble and grumble, but nothing more. Americans don't like the word 'censorship', but will support the action if told that it's necessary for national security.

I agree. The real questions should center around how in the world could an army private get his hands on such sensitive material. Doesn't seem like he could do it alone. But instead the focus is all on the left's other patsy who publishes the information so we can all cry, "We need more censorship!" When what we should be crying is, "We need a government who can or WILL protect our Top Secret Info. (if it truly is) effectively.

Don't succumb to it. Mass Censorship is not the answer.

The USG cannot control the internet though. It's bigger than what they can do.
The best they can do is institute the Great Firewall like China but there will always be hackers to create loopholes.

The internet is a monster they cannot control.

Thanks to wikileaks there are several projects now working on alternates to DNS servers owned by corporates and collecting money from it.
Thanks to DHS and ICE shutting down websites there are projects springing up to continue the free flow of information on the internet. BTW..DHS also shut down websites that were selling nothing; they were torrent search engines and got caught up in the sweep.

In the bigger scope of things..they are not really that sensitive; more embarassing and shows corruption, greed and much bribery going on rather than war plans or strategies.

Over 5 million people have access to those documents..over 5 million people. The government is too big to manage itself IMO.

Good point. Without a leak from the Gov, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

What would be earth shattering?

This Nation is corrupt. There is nothing the Government could do that would be considered "earth shattering".

These latest leaks show that we've broken treaties, lied to the US public about US military attacks in Yemen, bullied European countries into not investigating torture allegations from their own citizens.

95% of people don't care.
