Florida Pardons The Doors' Jim Morrison - ABC News

Rock and roll icon Jim Morrison was pardoned on Thursday by the Florida clemency board for exposing himself at a raucous concert in 1969, an act the late singer and many concert-goers denied ever took place.

Outgoing Governor Charlie Crist and the clemency board voted unanimously to pardon The Doors' lead singer, who would have turned 67 on December 8.

"In this case, the guilt or innocence is in God's hands not ours," Crist said.

What is that last line - homage to In God We Trust or a deficit fighting move? Why just this case? Might was well get rid of those pesky and expensive courts and judges and leave everything up to God.

I suppose it is important to Doors or Jim Morrison fans to have his name finally cleared. Are they an important voting bloc in FL?

LOL!!

If they were a bunch of aging Deadheads, maybe they would be an important voting block, in some of the more Liberal area of Florida?

This is no different than taking the time to award Medals of Honor posthumously.

Jimmy shoulda never been saddled with that charge in the first place. It cost nothing more than the cost of some ink and paper to right a wrong. Let it go.

He needs to pardon people who are in jail for marijuana possession instead of grandstanding.

Thank goodness "we" no longer consider him one of ours.

He doesn't have more important things to do?
