Ok .......we are inundated with wall to wall talk about the defict, online on tv , every where and interestingly enough, most of it is coming from the left! Thats right, we now have a huge percentage of Neo-deficit Hawks..........so it seems. But those of us who genuinely have been concerned about the deficit know that these neo-deficit hawks really aren't concerned about the deficit, what they are concerned about, is the fact that obama has not been able to raise taxes.....and to them, that is equivalent to leaving billions of dollars on the table that they should be taking to give to others. How can anyone say they are concerned about the deficit yet support trillions of dollars in deficit spending? They cant, what these neo-deficit hawks are really about is redistribution! Plain and simple!

Um, the right has been backing hundreds of billions of dollars in tax cut extensions, with no spending cuts to correspond. Both parties are screwing up. It is the spending, not tax cuts or tax increases thats going to help the economy.

It's almost surreal listening to these congress creatures talk around the spending that got us here in the first place.

If only they were as passionate and creative about staying within a budget as they were about finding ways to grab more money from us.

Right you are Frank, Surreal is exactly what it is.....I honestly believe that the left has overplayed its hand though, like I said , it only takes an elementary math intellect to understand that you cant give more than you got. We agree on this.......the difference is you want the government to TAKE money from who they decide doesn't deserve it and spend it the way a bunch of rich corrupt out of touch bureaucrat, politicians think it should be spent. I believe we let people keep as much of THEIR money as possible and let them spend it how they see fit.

Nope, I like tax cuts, I just want them accompanied by a spending cut to offset the loss of revenue.

Republicans are big on tax cuts, but they never cut any programs. They always say they are going to cut things, most of which I disagree with, but then they never do.

Thats because the things they attack, social security, medicare, welfare, etc are supported by 70% of the population or higher (70% of TEA party members support SSI and medicare in its current form).

So its no better than democrats increasing spending and not increasing taxes.

I want pay as you go. Neither party wants that. There are plenty of things to cut that won't effect the poorest Americans, and won't effect the bottom line of people that can't stand it.

This really encapsolates this fiscal fraudelance of the modern day GOP. They cater to unsophsticated people who can't intellectually comprehend more syllables than "tax cuts." They refuse to say how we will make meaningful cuts in spending to coincide; that's because over 70% of our spending revolves around Republican money-makers: military spending and social security.

The Republican "solution" is to feed people who don't know any better irrelevant cliche's about food stamps and entitlements and ear marks, all of which make up virtually nothing relative to the large scale.

OK, wise guys, give us some specifics of where you want to cut. Then try to get Congress to vote for it. Even the smallest items with little benefit to the public are hard to cut. The larger ones are almost impossible. Most voters would support a 10% cut in Congressional pay but Congress certainly won't go for that and it is a minuscule part of the budget anywawy.

Sounds like someone didn't get his Obama money.

Blame it all on the other side.
