She said one couldn't be 100% sure because saddam had not allowed inspections for so many years, HAD used them previously on the Kurds, the S h i t e s, the Iranians, but based on the intelligence and evidence from around the WORLD, it was thought by everyone that he still had them.
These are known facts, maybe you should expand your sources or possibly pick up a credible history book on the run up to the invasion.
It was indeed quite obvious for all to witness ... that the exceptional intellect of Ms. Rice was head and shoulders above that of the seemingly clueless and acutely arrogant Ms. C.
Ms. Rice is absolutely a "Breath Of Fresh Air" and without doubt a true "Intellectual" ... The American People would benefit greatly from the political services of this vastly qualified lady.
"President Rice", now that absolutely has a very nice sound to it ... does it not ???
Quite the difference between the "Pseudo Intellectual" in the old Yankee WH and the "Factual Intellectual" Ms. R ... "Ain't Nothing Like The real Thing Baby" !

Why don't you present this to the over 4000 soldiers that died and the over 100,000 that were wounded? Casualties in Iraq - Antiwar.com
How can somebody watch and listen to a video and then come with a totally incorrect take on what was said? I mean really, just tell me how you could get one or two sentences so wrong?
She's been saying this all along, even before the invasion.
She's been saying what? That no blame could ever attach to her? Not saying it isn't true, but news to me.

It was the job of the world's intelligence agencies to know, and obviously they got it wrong,
And this is where opinions all of a sudden got divided. Because France Germany et al. didn't consider the evidence strong enough to merit a full-scale invasion. That honor belonged to Ms. Rice and her companions, who looked at the evidence and decided to act on it.
There were people saying, loud and clear, that the aluminum tubes weren't for centrifuge use, for instance. They were right and she could have listened to the opposing viewpoint, but she didn't.

so did the UN, who had inspectors looking for those non-existent WMD two days before the invasion,
Oh, that probably wasn't a smart subject to bring up. See, the inspectors found pretty much nothing, which began to be a bit of an embarrassment - because it fit the narrative of an Iraq bristling with WMD so poorly. It was increasingly obvious that CIA's bombastic claims of knowing what was where was so much wishful thinking, and Hans Blix was not above saying so.
An intellectually honest Condoleeza Rice would have stopped to assess the situation, but of course she did the opposite - concluded that the lack of results was due to Iraqi lack of cooperation and worked to hasten the invasion. As it happened, the UN inspectors were right and Condoleeza was dead wrong.

so did the democrats and the Clinton administration, who called for regime change
But refrained from invading, which was a damn smart thing to do. Of course, the Republicans at the time were busy yelling "Wag the Dog" and focusing on who had oral sex with whom, which I'm sure did absolute wonders for national security.

AND paraded a whole lot of dems from congress talking about saddam and his WMD.
Consequence analysis is one sign of a competent administration. Clinton understood - as did the competent Bush, back when - that occupying Iraq was a fool's errand.
GWB's administration very much wanted an Iraq war, tapped (masterly) into the emotional turmoil in the broad US populace after 9/11, and got their war. They then proceeded to bungle things up left and right, and it'll be another decade before we know exactly to what extent they f.cked up.
Rice deserves no thanks for being one of the minds behind that, and her whining that technically speaking, it wasn't her who scr.wed up is frankly not going to endear her to me in the slightest.
