Staying upwind is important, yes. However, deer are actually quite curious animals and often will walk toward a scent including cigar smoke to see what it is. Pumas are drawn to one of the Calin Klein perfumes specifically. Caribou, I couldn't say. Obviously it was not a deterant for the one Palin harvested.
What a hoot. Perfumes are made of female deer sent glands, it's no wonder critters are attracted to them

It's just a TV show I don't find it very interesting other than being in Alaska but then I can't believe anyone would dislike this any more than the show with Jesse Ventura or some truck drivers or loggers screaming at each other
If you don't like the show why watch? Her gun safety was questionable but I have seen worse. Her stalking technique was weak. But then how strong can it be with a camera crew following you around. LOL
On a scale of 1 to 10 I give her show a 4. Kate plus 8 I give a 1. Kate has to be the most annoying woman alive.
But then I find most reality shows more than a little dull.
