RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — A federal judge declared the Obama administration's health care law unconstitutional Monday, siding with Virginia's attorney general in a dispute that both sides agree will ultimately be decided by the U.S. Supreme Court.
U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson is the first federal judge to strike down the law, which has been upheld by two others in Virginia and Michigan. Several other lawsuits have been dismissed and others are pending, including one filed by 20 other states in Florida.
German influence is not necessarily a bad thing. They have been a force for good in recent years.
I agree, I was just making a joke.
However the Germans wanted the EU to include Eastern Euro countries with historical ties to Germany in order to increase German influence within the EU, and with those countries included in the EU and the Schengen agreement has come more immigration from those countries. An "externality" is an unintended consequence.
Do Republicans really want this fight? The only other options to a private system with an individual mandate (which is actually a Republican idea) is one where healthcare premiums will continue to rise since people would just wait until they are sick to get insured (pretty much the status quo).
They shouldn't make people buy insurance. THEY SHOULD OFFER IT FREE TO EVERY CITIZEN just like the UK and Canada do.
DUH
Dah, except for the fact its not free in Canada (or anywhere else). I have a business partner in Canada who had to pay for nurses to take care of his mother in the home because insurance wont cover it. Here, they are covered.. So you want reduced care? What an odd position to hold..

Or a single payer system ala Medicare....
Yes, we very much want this fight because if Democrats win this one, there isnt a dam thing you guys cant mandate on society...

I would argue that if this law was scrapped, it would pave the way for a more "liberal" public healthcare system.
