How can she celebrate both? The founder specially said that kwanza is a humanistic celebration and said that Jesus is a fairy tale. He also has been tied in with islam. He wanted it to be a alternative to Christianity. Research the real story, not some pc crap on the man and his speeches about kwanza.

So non-Christians can't celebrate Christmas? I want to start holding a Saturnalia party every year, or am I not allowed because I'm not a pagan Roman?

Come on. If you don't believe in Christ and what his purpose for being born was for, how can you celebrate Christmas? That being said, I would love if a non Christian celebrated it and was drawn into a relationship with Jesus.

And there are families that celebrate both Hanukkah and Christmas because they want to even though neither Judaism nor Christianity say anything about celebrating both. People can do what they want--they don't necessarily have to sell their soul to the founder in order to be able to celebrate something.

Because it's the most widely spoken language in Africa. Over 50 million people speak it. Not only that but it's part of the Bantu family, pulls heavily from Arabic, and pulls a lot of words from other languages as well, so it has a more international feel.

It might not be specifically East African, but it's also important to consider the fact that many people can't even trace their ancestors back to a specific part of Africa, so having a language that best represents Africa as a whole includes those people too.
