Actually, the estate tax right now, in 2010, is 0%, across the board, for ALL Americans. Anything more is a death tax increase on ALL Americans.

Reid threatens to keep Congress into next year - Washington Times

Senate Democrats on Tuesday unveiled a broad agenda for an end-of-session sprint that, in other years, could be a whole year's worth of activity — ranging from an arms-reduction treaty with Russia to a major immigration bill to overturning the ban on gay troops.

And that's not to mention the nearly 2,000-page, $1.1 trillion massive spending bill Senate Democrats said they'll try to push through. The bill contains hundreds of pork-barrel spending projects and new rules governing everything from airport baggage to detainees at the prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

He's just doing his part to make sure Skippy doesn't get reelected.

Default Dept. of Interior Land Grab is in This Bill!

Michelle Malkin » Omnibus double whammy: The Dems’ lame-duck land grabs

In a last-ditch lame duck push, eco-lobbyists have been furiously pressuring Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., to pass a monstrous 327-page omnibus government lands bill crammed with more than 120 separate measures to lock up vast swaths of wilderness areas. Despite the time crunch, Senate Democrats in search of 60 votes are working behind the scenes to buy off green Republicans. House Democrats would then need a two-thirds majority to fast-track the bill to the White House before the GOP takes over on Jan. 5.

Victory!!

Senate Dem leader drops nearly $1.3T spending bill

Quote:
Democrats controlling the Senate have abandoned a 1,924-page catchall spending measure that's laced with homestate pet projects known as earmarks and that would have provided another $158 billion for military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Nevada Democrat Harry Reid gave up on the nearly $1.3 trillion bill after several Republicans who had been thinking of voting for the bill pulled back their support.
I've been calling every GOP Senator on the fence for days.

Wrong issue. This was the omnibus $1.3+ Trillion spending bill the democrats tried to ram down our throats, full of earmarks, goodies and restrictions meant to tie the hands of the GOP in the coming year.

A CR to fund the bloated massive government for a month or so is all that is needed...then the GOP can get to work on CUTTING spending, which is what the democrats were trying to prevent with this monstrosity.

"I would hope that it would make sense on a bipartisan basis, this one-page continuing resolution on Feb 18th as an alternative to this 2,000-page monstrosity that spends a half a billion dollars a page," McConnell said on the Senate floor.

Reid said he would work with McConnell to produce a short-term funding bill to keep the government running into early next year.
Exactly how it should have been from the start. The democrats have done enough damage in the last two years, they don't deserve the courtesy of passing more ruinous legislation in the lame duck.

Looks like all those calls paid off. I'm sure I wasn't the only one outraged by what the democrats were trying to do.

Once again your particanship is showing. What about the canceled pork of the left? Oh I get it. Left pork is right and right pork is wrong.
Lets make it simple. All pork is wrong.

Failed tax cut extensions for the wealthy at the tune of 900 billion was a democrat plan? The outrageous offer on the estate tax was a democrat idea? 64 earmarks by "no earmarks" mcconnell was a democrat plan? Democrats tried to work with the republicans with the 250k and one million dollar plans, both times acting like children they shot them down. This time reid and the dems have had it with their antics and pork and gave a huge HELL NO to right.
This is the most major blow to the right while standing up for the people the democrats have done during this presidency and by democrats in a very long time. This should ring loud and true to the greedy and agenda pushers on the right, democrats are not going to be bullied around.
