DADT repeal passed Senate, on to President's desk for signature.

Right wing bigots defeated again.

The country becomes that much more kinder and progressive.

In other news...the right wing forecast says the sky is likely to fall sometime tomorrow in the late afternoon.

I can control myself just fine. I guess you either didn't read what I wrote, or had trouble comprehending it.

I SAW the fight take place.

Do you know what the sailors call channel fever?
That last week pulling back to home port after 6 months away. 4-7 days where almost nobody is sleeping. It's been 6 months way from wife/girlfriend/best friend/partner/whatever. What's changed, etc etc etc. You are so on edge that things seem surreal. Most of your work is done on automatic. You lay down during your off time, but you can't sleep. after several days of this peope start getting more than just edgy. They start getting irritable.

That's what preceeded the fight. Again, I wasn't involved, I saw it. Understand?

...and in the middle of a war no less. What better time could there possibly be, to play around with social justice engineering, then in the middle of a war?

My question is, did they also amend the US Code, which says gays and life the military are incompatible?

If that's the case, I say GOOD! We need to weed out people (gay or straight) who can't control their tempers, prejudices, or sexual urges while serving our country... that shouldn't have been tolerated with DADT, and should still not be tolerated after repealing the act.

But how this will increase such incidences is beyond me, considering they've already been serving in the military for many years - and I'm sure most of their fellow soldiers are perfectly aware of this. Just as Canada's legalization of gay marriage didn't lead to mass "gay conversions," I doubt repealing DADT will lead to chaos in the military... I hope our men & women in uniform have more class & maturity than that.
