"Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward."
The "reason for the season" wasn't for people to feel all warm and cozy by thinking everyone else acknowledged or gave importance to Christmas. Seems the trend of American Christianity to stress one's personal relationship with God and personal salvation, to the near-exclusion of the message of tendering to the poor, the needy, the downtrodden, the oppressed and marginalized, has resulted in people thinking Christmas is all about them and their sensitivities.
There are people living on the streets freezing this month. Do something for them as a way to honor Christmas, rather than huff about whether stores "celebrate" Christmas or not.
So weird how right fundies are trying to foist Politicized Christmas onto everyone, and still manage to turn around and blame everyone else for what they're doing. Surprised their brains don't melt down holding so many contradictory persecution complexes to justify every crusade they invent. Love thy neighbor or kill thy neighbor? Decisions decisions.
Of course! Bell ringers & Salvation Army shops should screen donors/ shoppers and make sure only card carrying Christians are donating for the exclusive children of God club helping out only Christians in poverty.
There was a preacher bragging on about how he might decide to selectively dole out aid to Haitians based on who was officially in his faith. He got read the riot act by Christians, and I'm so glad they did. Abusing troubled people by withholding aid that was given freely by Christian donors to help the needy is despicable. That's not what Christians are about. No Christian ID card necessary, and YES, they've upheld their Christian foundation just fine.
What is your definition of a "fundie"? Is it an insult?
I fail to see how your response remotely relates to my assertion that a christian charity should say Merry Christmas. You went off in an entirely different direction.

Read post #281.....and quit looking for insults.....that's not the topic.
Political correctness kills culture. In a liberal's perfect world, everybody would be rendered into nothingness and there would be no celebrations of any kind so that nobody would be offended by anything.
This is one of the best quotations I've ever seen on C.D.---but I think it should say "fanatical liberals" because most of us liberals are not that politically correct.Merry Christmas to all.
No, I did not and why would you care if I did?????
Here's the post and NO where did I insult you:
"""""Are you talking about those "morally corrupt" people who do so much for the needy ?
Saying Happy Holidays is abandoning christian principles??
Guess what? Thankfully they don't give a damn about the tender sensibilities of fanatic W E A K christians....they care about the poor...is THAT abandoning "christian" principles????
Nevermind, you never can answer questions...."""""
