If you're asking about State agencies, the Florida agency is its own horror story. It's broken. Too many sad endings have taken place because people simply weren't doing the jobs they were paid to do. Yes, they likely had too much of a caseload, but the incompetence and lack of supervision is reprehensible.

My Wife has to do deal with them regularly in few
states. Basically, a lot of them arent the highest
achievers and there is chronic burnout syndrome.
The good ones just cant handle the intense load, get
burnt out, join the rank of the "just putting in my time"rs
and then move on. The turnover warrants a revolving door
for most offices. Pretty sad that kids have that many problems, huh ?
The employees that work for DCF (deparment of children and familys)work 7 days a week for VERY little money. They are not allowed to work in their own county so they must drive to an adjacent one and then use their own car as they drive around doing the home visits and general investigating.
These people are the ONLY people often who are standing between a child and complete disaster and there simply aren't enough of them and they are not being paid well enough.
i work for children and families we are overworked, understaffed and must certainly underpaid for the most part my co-workes care about their jobs and do the best we can for children and families the stories you read about are always negative but there is more postive than negative and of course you never hear about the positive
