If you can win the Nobel Peace Surprise 10 days into office, you certainly can win re-election in 2012.
Sorry, the perfect strom has passed, the majority of voters sobered up and his novelty election will not was just that, a 2nd term is an impossibility.
Funny how i can always spot a political novice when i see one.
Study your presidential election history and get back to me.
a dirty garbage rat could beat Obama at this point.
As much as I'd love for this to be the case, it's simply not true. There are still many people who support Obama despite his disastrous Presidency. Why these people support him is beyond me, but they support him nonetheless and are entitled to do so. Beyond that, there isn't much we can do to convince these people that Obama is a disaster b/c, if they voted based on data and results, they wouldn't be supporting Obama.
This pains me, but I think Obama's chances at re-election are 50/50 if not higher. We can definitely do better than Romney in attempts to defeat him.
When you get into a presidential election, it decidedly favors Democrats, and every year it is going to decidedly favor them more and more," says Carville. The duo, armed with polls, detail the changing demographics: Younger voters are leaning Democratic more, as are Hispanics, blacks, and unmarried women—all expanding constituencies. "Look at what's coming in 2012. Every election becomes less white," says Carville. "Republicans are forced to double down on older whites, which is, long-term, not a very productive place to be," he adds.
The result is so baked in that Obama won't have to work hard to win re-election in 2012, says Carville, Bill Clinton's political guru. "He has to do somewhat better; he doesn't have to do a whole lot better." Adds Greenberg, Obama probably won't even face a primary challenge, he "will be there by himself."
Then why did Obama's party lose control of the House, and get crushed in the Senate, in the midterms? They say the Democratic base doesn't vote heavily in those elections. In fact that trend, Carville suggests, could result in a reversal of the pattern that Democrats win congressional elections while Republicans take the White House. Have any opinion pieces from a mammalian?
"No one will ever accuse James Carville of taking himself seriously."

LOL, I guess that was before the census data released Tuesday. Congressional approtionment also affects electoral votes. So Red states have gained electoral votes based on hte last census.

You're absolutely right. Judging from the nonsense that Republicans have been spewing over the last 2 years, there isn't ANYTHING you can say to convince us.
