China is just regaining its status that it had for a long time. We just don't like to recognize anything that happened more than a few hundred years ago and outside our white world.
I guess it is in our interest to support rather than bash India as it will likely be the only power to match China. Despite the obvious cultural differences India is quite compatible with the West...
This has nothing to do with race, this has to do with a serious threat to our nation. We are well on our way to becoming a corporatist/fascist nation. Jobs are being sent over to china and india at record paces, putting middle class americans into poverty, losing their homes, all the while big corporations are laughing all the way to the bank and don't give a damn about anything but themselves. Corporate greed is turning un-trustable nations like communist china single handedly into a superpower. We are in so much debt to them, when the time is right, they come looking for what america owes them, and we won't have the money. China in tern I doubt would start a war, but would crush us financially with blocking exports and having no funds to run the government. Complete chaos erupting is not something out of very real possibility.
This video was floating around a few months ago and while it has some right wing BS thrown in, for the most part is dead on what truly could happen if american keeps going the way it is,..
You mean thanks greedy consumers for buying the cheaper products. Without the demand/appetite for worthless crap there would be no market.
That is true also, the massive corporations move jobs overseas to up their bottom line, but surprisingly joe q. public doesn't give a damn where it's made "as long as it's cheap" The corporations have read this and keep jumping ship to china. The corporations are making out like mad men and giving the people the crumbs which they happily accept.

well if it comes down to that, i say we just don't pay them back a single dime, and say out loud.!!! eat my freakin nukes and go to hell you bass-tards..
Nope. Even if all the stars aligned and it was as cheap to make goods in the US and no taxes, China will not let you sell anything there unless you also transfer the technology and invest a few billion in manufacturing there. Otherwise, your outfit will mysteriously get "environmental regulation" notices from the Chinese bureaucrats (HA! Environmental! From the Chinese!)
And most US business want access to the Chinese consumers just because there are so damn many of them. So they must move the capital and technology there. It is simple mathematics and capitalism. The Chinese Communist Politburo has really hit a jackpot with this fascinating discovery back in the 90s so they don't even bother to reform their political system. Remember how a few pro China pundits here were whimpering something about "if we make China richer they will become more democratic" - Ha!
Capital will flow to where it make sense. If money is flowing into China, then it make sense to be there.
If we are self-efficient (we are not), then we don't need other countries or products from other countries. The problem we have no is an anti-business government, a negative saving general population, and we don't product.
china will beat us at our own game... LOL.. and they used all of our resources, know-how, and most importantly greed against us...
we ought to be ashamed of ourselves for selling our neighbors out for a buck...chickens will come home to roost.. expect a huge power, and wealth shift in the next century..and it doesn't look to be good for America
They didn't do it themselves so much as we did it to ourselves.. by using "globalization" to feed the appetites of greed in this country..
they saw the opportunity.. took it.. used it for what it was worth in building a middle class to replace ours that is disappearing..
before we wake up from ourselves..we'll be holding an empty bucket wondering what the hell happened

We already are. Long term unemployment benefits with the constant cry of "where are the jobs" ?
Reality is those jobs aren't gone; they are being done by someone else in another country. But people and governments aren't ready to deal with reality yet.
