Obama traveled further to become president than Reagan did. He is the most scrutinized president in history and had the misfortune of coming after Dubya. Nevertheless, this classy, articulate, intelligent, and supremely versatile president is thriving and doing very well. Pubs won't acknowledge the obvious however, preferring to shower praises on that overrated lark Reagan.
Well well well.....looks like we have a hint of what really drives alexus incredibly unrealistic adoration for TFBPOTUS.

Let me add, a couple of the issues you bring up, Reagan later regretting signing those bills. People make mistakes, some can admit it, others can not.

He also had the power of the veto at his disposal as do all Presidents. When it comes to the Oval Office in the words of Harry Truman "The Buck Stops Here".

Say for instance...

raising the gas tax
closing tax loopholes for businesses
increasing the corporate tax rate

negotiate with our enemies

Which of the Reagan approved activities would be ok for Obama (or any Democrat) to do?
Great post. Its pathetically sad to see people put Reagan on a pedestal when he sold out America.

People bash on Obama for being "holier than thou" and "an actor". Well Reagan was AN ACTOR, a PROFESSIONAL and he was voted in with a huge sweep in 1984.

Reagan also re-married after a failed first marriage. This is overlooked.

Regan put us high in debt, cut out tax loopholes for the middle class (remember you could WRITE OFF credit card debt until Regan), made Wall St his priority, his immigration policies failed and Iron Contra happened under his watch.

He sold this country out as he made bankruptcy easier and made merges easier. He also bailed out the banks (S&L).

"But I'm going to tell you, I have not changed my opinion about ever accepting a tax that will have a deleterious effect on the economy, and most tax increases do. Taxing is not the policy, or the problem, with the deficit. The deficit is due to too much spending. Every dollar of increased revenue since 1980 - and that means including our tax cuts -every dollar of increased revenue has been matched by a dollar and a quarter of increased spending."
