Or is it just more CNN propaganda?. Apparently due to lowere population increases in middle america, the GOP is predicting their added electoral votes will increase their power.

But, doesnt this wash out when more and more Americans in general vote Independent because they are disgusted by both sides?

It's not propaganda, but it's not as big of a deal as some are making it out to be. It would have to be a very close Presidential election in order for the change in Electoral College votes to make a difference.

The left only gets a brief bit of power and then the country snaps back to reality and votes in a moderate or conservative and just plain common sense.

If it were close in 2012, who do you see running ? In general many many people vote Ind. now, according to recent polls.

That's hard for me to say at this time, however the next sixteen months will clearly show just who got the message
from the mid term election be it either republican or democrat
and yes even independents

People have to wake up to the fact that government does
not have the money to support all of the social issues that
to many people have become dependent on for to long.

Why bother even working when you know your income will come from the government, subsidized by taxpayers who have succeeded? It doesn’t take an economic genius to see that such a model isn’t sustainable.

Texas has received a lot of indep voters from other states, but not yet enough to make the state go blue or even purple. this will mean that the state will go red for a t least a couple of more election cycles. I would fully expect that Tex will be a tossup state by the year 2020 though.

I dunno. Those people coming here are flocking to the cities, not spreading out across the state. They may be winning in their district but not on statewide issues.

Republicans gained control of the numerous state governments. (THough I can't give you an exact number without looking it up.).

State governments draw up the boundaries for U.S. Congressional districts.

Therefore it is reasonable to assume the Republicans will draw lines so that they can win more seats.

The big cities have been trending blue in the last few elections. I would expect this to continue. If Tex elected more Libertarian types instead of good ol boys like Rick Perry, then the new Texans might be more inclined to vote Red instead of indep. Until then, I think that the new Texans will trend more blue than red.
