For all you people who have no problem at all with poor people producing children that they can not afford to support...do not ever start crying about what a childhood poverty epedemic we have. You can't have it both ways. For those who think more and more welfare will solve child poverty... when you throw money at something you will just get more of it.

More welfare, perhaps not, but surely there is a need for increased funding for education. Kids cannot get a proper education when their schools are leaking and crumbling and when the parents can't afford to buy the textbooks and supplies they are now required to purchase.

I just wish we would address this problem with solutions such as cutting off welfare, forced adoption, forced sterilization etc.
Contempt... a ten cent word that would have only cost a penny if you had just said hate. Both of which are something this country would be much better off without. While they should not be having children they cannot support, the 'exploding deficit disaster' started well before these children were born. Our government and wall street took advantage of it's citizens ultimately creating America's disaster. You're as much a part of the problem with your contemptible, hateful dictatorship way of thinking.

The solution lies within our 'leaders' having a much greater respect for it's people instead of their bank accounts and excess of materialistic ideals. It's much more than apparent this concept is too far beyond the comprehension of the majority of those in 'leadership' positions. Therein lies the surmounting and continuing downfall of this country.

Our 'leaders' are just as much at fault at irresponsibility as these people procreating without proper self-sufficient means of raising children.

So I ask, "Why has our country so reprehensibly let down it's once proud heritage"?

If you can't feed do not breed.
I would say that "contempt" is not the word you were looking for in that sentence to describe your feelings.
So, the poor and needy parents in our country are solely to blamefor our nation's (apostrophe s for possession) "exploding deficit disaster." Well, geeeez. What about all those bankers?

Based on the expressed desire to cut off welfare to the needy parents, force them to adopt out their children, and then force them to be "sterilized".......well, I'd think the appropriate word would be hatred based on saddistic feelings.

Most people enjoy sex and children are a result. There is no Nirvanna, so life is sloppy as a result. It would be better to educate from a young age and to provide contraceptives, but to sterilize a person against their will or to steal their babies are beyond the pale.

When did you lose your humanity?
Well said!

This is something i have never come to understand, no matter how anyone chooses to rationalize it. It is hard enough in every day life, to take care of one's self, but to add to the problem and burden now of raising a child, that you cannot afford to take care of, is something i will never comprehend. I saw a show on tv about teens who canoot afford to raise their babies, it is very sad, and yes the babies and children do end up suffering somehow. Can't afford babies, can't afford to take care of your own children, ladies do me a favor, keep your legs closed!
