What was reckless and destructive about the last congress?
Other than your politics, that is.

Could be that in the face of a recession they went on a spending spree and passed lots of pork spending.

Looks like someone thinks things will change, must be nice to still be so naive when it comes to politics. OK, back to reality, in six months we will not be able to tell the TPers from any other Repub Rep, the Repub leadership will see to that, count on that.

And yet you remained silent during 8 years of GWB.

The Dumbing Down rolls on....

Am I the only one who finds this amusing?

You mean the "better path" that the last Republican Congress put us on?

The "destructive idiots" have lost their power? Of course, you mean the Democrats...obviously.

Of course, you seem to be forgetting that pesky Democratic Senate and the Presidents Veto pen!

Things will never be better, as long as there are bitter rivals, that is what we have two inmature parties, that have to duke it out, instead of together figuring out what needs to be done together as a team, to get this economy rolling. This morning the news, was not encouraging in the least, double dip figures for housing, going down down and down. Unemployment for 2011 is rising again, with more people to soon lose jobs. This is a very unsteady situation, and these idiots both sides i have come to believe, need to get off of their high horses, and do something to fix it. I don't see how any one at this point, can be so supportive of one party, when they are both babies in disgusie.

[Wet Blanket Flag On]
The "next" Congress will NOT be a relief from the "past" Congresses.
The "honorable" members will NOT tackle the issues that are destroying the nation.
Any expectation of meaningful change is wishful thinking, and will soon be dashed.

Major problems that are NOT on the approved list of issues for dissemination in the MSM:
  1. Usury (national debt, and private debt)
  2. Fuel (oil:20 million barrel/day consumption versus 7 million barrel/day production)
  3. Bankruptcy (since 1933)
  4. Bribery (via FICA)
1. Not only is the public debt impossible to repay, Congress is paying interest with borrowed funds. Not good. New Federal Reserve notes require an increase in debt (Title 12 USC Sec. 411). And that debt cannot be questioned, pursuant to the 14th amendment, sec. 4.
2. Congress is subsidizing increased consumption of petroleum, via subsidy of automobile manufacturers, highway construction expansion, while disregarding the necessity to transition to electric traction rail - the most efficient form of land transportation.
3. Since 1933, no "dollars" have circulated. No one has paid debt, pursuant to the USCON. The government has operated under a continuous "Temporary" State of Emergency. And that has been the excuse to side step constitutional limitations and eradicate freedoms of the people. All under the blanket excuse of bankruptcy "privilege".
4. Via FICA (1935), the government has bribed a voting bloc that will oppose any meaningful opposition to national socialism. When "takers" can outvote "givers", the "takers" take over. And they will NOT restrain themselves, in their demands for more.

The net result:
The cost for transportation will rise, as will taxes, as will all necessities, while local production of goods and services will be further constricted (job loss will continue). Inflation will erode the value of any wealth denominated in "dollar bills".
Expect long term economic depression / recession, featuring the worst features of the "Great Depression" with the shortages / rationing of WW2.
No meaningful change under current mismanagement is expected.

Based on past performance of the partisan political parties, no positive change is expected. It will take a collapse of government, and the rise of another, to deal with the four problems mentioned.
