111th Congress Added More Debt Than First 100 Congresses Combined: $10,429 Per Person in U.S. | CNSnews.com

Quote:
During the 110th Congress—which, according to the Clerk of the House, officially convened on Jan. 4, 2007 and adjourned on Jan. 4, 2009--the national debt increased $1.957 trillion. When that Congress adjourned less than two years ago, it claimed the record as the most debt-accumulating Congress in U.S. history.

The $3.22 trillion in new federal debt run up during the 111th Congress exceeds by 64 percent the $1.957 trillion in new debt run up during the 110th.
All under democrat control.

Yes, but weren't they the most productive in history!!? So says the dems, obama and the media.

Productive at passing laws, that for sure. Productive at passing bad law that the American people don't like.

Here's just the last ten years;

There will come a time when "Pelosi" will be associated as a generic term for wreckless spending.

If the debt is now 13 trillion, then how can 3 trillion be more than all others combined?

Why don't you read the piece or look at the Treasury figures. This is broken down by congressional session.

Yeah? But what about the TREASURY, which is where the figures come from. It's just straight adding and subtracting. You know, you can even go on the Treasury website and look for yourself, but of course you won't or can't do that. You'd then have to admit you are wrong, you'd have to admit what your party has done.

It's not. Read the link. The 111th debt exceeds the FIRST 100. Not the first 110.

Sure looks like a deliberate attempt to mislead people.

Historically, according to the U.S. Treasury, the federal debt did not reach $3.22 trillion until September 1990, during the 101st Congress. Between the first Congress, which adjourned in 1791 leaving behind approximately $75 million in debt, and the convening of the 101st Congress, which occurred on Jan. 3, 1989, the national debt grew to $2.684 trillion.

From the Treasury figures? Go ahead, show us where.

Of course, you CAN'T, can you? These figures come directly from the Treasury, but you will try, try, try to deny and deflect, as usual.

Oh, scroll down the link in the OP, past the video, to the Reading of the Clerk of the House, who's job it is to document such things.

Oh here;

Pick a date;

Add it up yourself. Of course, its much easier and convenient to pretend these figures don't exist, isn't it?
