We really haven't had a real conservatve president in my lifetime and I am 63. Goldwater was the last real conservastive nomneee. With the national debt;what it will take to pay it offf and lower spending;I think we will see one soon. There is no way othersie of us getting out of debt and it will be painful for most.

Yes, and about the only "conservative" thing he did while in office (excluding military exploration) was the tax cuts.

Everything Obama has done excluding the military has been conservative, except the stimulus.

He didn't have NASA reach out to the Muslim world and many other things Obama has done.

*Excluding the military*

If we were to include the military, I can argue Obama is even further to the right.

Will we ever have a true president again? That is my question. JFK was a true president before some *mercury* entered his frontal lobe at over 2000 fps.

Used for making exploding bullets.

Remember presidents can be as conservative as possible but they don't control the purse strings..

Also, foreign policy is a big factor in what determines conservative.

I base my claim that JFK was a conservative from new reporter George Putnam who knew him very well.

A conservative would not have signed government-run health insurance into law.

We will NEVER have a President who is anything like anyone in the past. Know why? We don't live in the fricking past. The entire world is different, it wouldn't work. We may have a conservative POTUS but he damn sure isn't going to turn back time and satisfy everyone. It's hard to say goodby to yesterday...but it's gone.
