Very, very strange. So sudden. There were birds everywhere. Just falling out of the sky.

This happened in FL on a smaller scale, localized to a city park, ten years ago. Autopsy results showed the cause to be misapplied diazinon by a city worker.

Just found this from a couple years ago in PA. Similar happening attributed to government's deliberate poisoning to help a farm being overrun by birds! Hard to believe they would go to such extremes. Situation in Ark. says no signs of poison; more likely trauma... But amazing to see how often this is reported if you do a google search!

In the video a government official is saying it could have been caused by fireworks, the birds had heart attacks?

Default Red-winged Blackbird

What ever happened to them it is hinky that it only happened to one type of bird. Red-winged Blackbird

(CNN) -- Arkansas game officials hope testing scheduled to begin Monday will solve the mystery of why up to 5,000 birds fell from the sky just before midnight New Year's Eve.

There are 100 common Arkansas species.

Why only the one species was effected? It seems to me other types should have been found dead, as well.
