How do you know you haven't? Do you ask the sexual orientation and politics of everyone you meet?

Actually, it's kinda weird but two of the most ardent conservatives I know are gay males. Not in a social policy way for the most part (they aren't the self hating kind who believe they shouldn't have equal rights as straight people), but definitely economic conservatives.

Like I said in your other thread on the exact same subject, cpac is relevant because....... those who attend is what attracts those who speak. What you will see happen is a lot smaller crowd of a lot less conservative people with speakers like dick lugar and olympia snow. So big victory for the homosexuals......what did they accomplish?

Gay people didn't set out to accomplish anything in this instance. Far right wing conservative perverts made fools out of themselves with no help from anyone.

They weren't trying to accomplish anything, but those social conservative groups ended up giving the gay conservative group a victory. And in the future, mainstream conservatives will be bragging about how they included gays at CPAC and rejected the anti-gay social conservatives.

there is a big difference between fiscal conservatives and social conservatives.. I would consider myself a fiscal conservative.. I balance my check-book.. government needs to as well.. but with that said, priorities must be taken care of properly. Neocons talk the fiscal conservative game on everything other than their little baby issues like military, wars, and big business tax cuts. They want you and me to be conservative fiscally, while they rob the treasury.
If america ever gets someone that is fiscally conservative without pandering to the crazy social conservatives.. i just might vote for them..
social conservatives have ruined the conservative movement.. and so long as they are in their camp.. I can't vote for them I'm sorry.. balancing the budge it great.. but at what cost? I'm gay and if that means stifling all hope at equal marriage rights, or going so far as making my relationship with my partner illegal? sorry but I got priorities and life liberty and pursuit of happiness take precedence for me over balancing the budget...

LOL at the source. You're not offending anyone with that as we conservatives give no credence to the socialist FDR.

As I was saying....... FoxNews.com - Conservative Conference Beset By Accusations of Pro-Gay Takeover, Muslim Agenda This will become the relevant alternative for those seeking office......... All of the groups boycotting CPAC are co-sponsoring October's Values Voter Summit, and actively promoting it as a viable alternative. Sources told FoxNews.com that disgruntled conservatives are also generating interest in building a new conference to serve as a direct competitor to CPAC.
