'Huge blow to CPAC': More big guns say bye

Conservatives seem to have a "gay problem". What should be done about it? Should gay groups be banned from CPAC?

Sounds more to me like gays are having a "conservative problem" .. otherwise we wouldn't even be hearing about this ..

Not at all. It's not gays who are having the problem. Maybe you don't understand the figure of speech.

If gays were trying to hold a conference, but were facing cancellations because conservative groups were planning to show up, then you could say that gays are having a "conservative problem". But that's not the case. It's CPAC - the biggest gathering of conservatives in the country - who is facing cancellations because of gays, which means that it's conservatives who are having a "gay problem".

If you were in charge of CPAC, what would you do? Disinvite the gay group, or include them and just accept that some social conservative groups are going to cancel?

Depends on your definition of conservative.

If its anything after 1980, then no.

Thank you. Glad to hear you favor inclusiveness.

And considering that it's World Net Daily and social conservatives who are making the most noise about this, I don't see how anyone can blame gays for it - although you certainly tried!

social conservatives are stupid... society can never go backwards it will continue to be liberal/progressive.. The constitution is a progressive document in nature, it was progressive when it was written, and continues to be progressive today. Conservatives eventually lose every fight when it comes to social issues in the courts because of this reason. Conservatism belongs in balancing budgets, getting rid of waste, holding government accountable and running a business/country.
