I am glad that Ms. Giffords has stabilized but am very sorry for the five victims who were killed by this liberal terrorist, one of whom was U.S. District Judge John Roll who was a Bush-appointee and faced many death threats in 2009 while he presided over a $32 million civil-rights lawsuit filed by illegal immigrants against an Arizona rancher.

Coincidence?

Was she too exposed in this setting? Did she have any or adequate federal protection?

I just want to make sure this never happens again. I hope the fbi steps in and looks at all angles, including the flag burning video and the author.
Probably nothing that would go over in a free society, sadly. I was just thinking about the "Tent Meeting" that our congressman held at a Labor Day festival in our town. If he had any protection, it was wa-a-a-y undercover. I really don't think he had any, and the city police were around, but not right there in the tent.

I have compassion for the mentally ill. Executing people who are absent minded solves nothing.

A lot of conservative issues (property rights, gold standard / currency, fear of government), but some liberal issues (his favorite books leaned left, illiteracy, civil rights). This kid might just be riding the looney train.

I'm glad he didn't die. That would be too easy an escape.
