Interesting. I've heard both Anderson Cooper and Kathleen Parker say the word on CNN. And Anderson Cooper is one himself. Good for him!

Silas, you should also be angry with City-Data since the word is censored here too.

Since the song was co-written by Sting, I wonder if he or Knopfler wrote the verse with the word. In my opinion, the ****** in question was Boy George. (with the earring and the makeup yeah that's his own hair!)

Ah, yes. True. I didn't consider the fact that it's the public Canadian airwaves that we're talking about. Still, every country has its standards. Social conservatives are regularly outraged by profane language, nudity, or "adult" themes on American television.

WOW, it only took 25 years to be "outraged" enough to ban it?

It's about time! Shame on Sting for being a part of this back in 1985. He always portrays himself to be so kind, giving and progressive. I can recall singing this song out loud with a friend of mine and emphasizing the f@ggot part of the song. That kind of indifference has no place nowadays.

This is an issue in Canada...not the United States. Last I checked we were not a part of Canada.

Why the outrage...?

Let the Canadians to what they want to do.

BTW, there is a poll here: Money for nothing: Should the song be banned from Canadian radio?
