Exactly. Most white pride is cloaked in other groups, like German pride, or Jewish pride (I know not all Jews are white but most of them are, especially Ashkenazi Jews), Catholic pride, etc. etc. Most areas where whites feel their pride are in subcultures within white culture, whether it's hipster culture or hick culture. There's no "white culture" because there are many cultures within "white culture" just as there are many cultures within "black culture" and "Hispanic culture" and "Asian culture".

The difference is that blacks, Hispanics, Asians, etc., were brought together by discrimination in the sense they all share the same experience of NOT having the privilege white people have, so in a way that brings them together. So for example, if you ask a Chinese person in China and a Japanese person in Japan what they have in common, they will probably feel worlds apart. If you ask a Nigerian and a Senegalese person how much they have in common, they will probably say very little.

But if you ask a Chinese-American and a Japanese-American what they have in common, they have the shared experience of being the receiving end of a boatload of Asian-American stereotypes. They'll probably be able to relate on the fact that people constantly assume they're good at math, that their languages and cultures constantly get grouped together by other people, etc. A Senegalese-American and Nigerian-American wlll probably be able to relate on the basis of sharing the African-American experience, even if they're first generation, because people will see their skin color and make all the same assumptions they do about African-Americans in general. The Senegalese-American and Nigerian-American will probably be able to relate on the fact that people are wary of them stealing, think they are dishonest, prone to doing scams or sell fake bags or sunglasses on a street corner (especially if they are first generation).

That's why there's a "Black Pride" and a "Hispanic Pride" and so on and so forth in America but there isn't a "White Pride" in the same way. "White Pride" in America is based on "Non-White hatred." "White pride" isn't associated with just being proud of being white, but being a white supremacist. "Black pride" and "Asian pride" etc. is just associated with being proud of one's culture or heritage, and of celebrating it. Sure, individuals within each group might take it a step further and hate on whites or on other races, but the culture phenomenon of racial pride for racial minorities in the U.S. isn't fundamentally based on the idea of supremacy the way white pride is.

Whites also don't have the shared experience of being discriminated against, which is why many whites don't feel the sense of common experience that many racial minorities, who otherwise have completely different backgrounds, often feel. That's why someone whose ancestors were slaves in this country can relate to someone who just got off a plane from Bangladesh. There is a shared non-white experience in America that doesn't exist consciously for whites. The only shared experience whites have is white privilege, and most whites don't even see it.

The white man is greeted immediately and warmly by the white sales clerk. The white tester leaves the store after browsing.
Three minutes later, the black man comes in and is completely ignored by the same salesman, who is standing around idle. More than 4 minutes elapse and the idle salesman continues to ignore the black browser.

Car Lot Browsing
Black man goes to car lot, shows obvious interest in a car in plain view of the salesmen inside the showroom. No one comes out to assist for at least nine minutes. The idle salesmen inside see the potential customer but do nothing to help him. Even the black salesman ignored him. I have experienced exactly the same treatment firsthand within the last two years.

When the white guy shows up at the same car lot a short time later, the same black salesman that ignored the black auto shopper was all over the white customer immediately, asking what he could to do earn the man's business.

Record Store Browsing
The black man was followed around the record store by an employee while browsing. He was clearly being watched as though he would steal something, yet he exhibited no suspicious behavior. There was not offer of assistance from the employee. The white man was not.

Walking in Downtown St. Louis
Both men walking down the same street at the same time, separated by several feet. The police drive past the white tester, slowed down, leaned out the window and took a close look at the black tester.

Car Lot Browsing, Part 2
White guy goes to a car lot, shows interest in a vehicle, is told he can get it for almost no money down (no credit check had been run at this point).
Later, the black guy asks about financing a vehicle, is told that he will need to put at least $2,000 down.

Then they go to another car lot. The white guy goes first, is told that he will need to put 10% - 20% of the price as a down payment. A short time later, the black guy inquires about the very same vehicle and is told that it would require a down payment of 20% - 25%...for the same car. The only difference was the color of the shopper. Further, the black man was quoted a price $500 more that the quote given the white man... for the very same vehicle. They had the same salesman!

Job Search - Job Search Firm
White guy goes to a job search firm, receives a helpful and courteous explanation of how their process works.
Black guy goes to the same job search firm, is assisted by the same clerk, and receives a nasty, condescending lecture on the process and about being lazy?!

Job Search - Dry Cleaners
There is a sign in the window announcing that they are hiring. Black guy is told repeatedly on different occasions by different employees that there is no job opening. The white guy is told repeatedly that there is an opening, they're still interviewing, etc.

Housing
Same story...white guy is encourged to look at an apartment..even given the keys, and a Master Key...to do a self-guided tour of an advertised available apartment. Black guy goes to the same place, same manager, and is told that the apartment has been taken and there is nothing available. When the Prime Time crew confronted the manager about what he had done, he lied. Then the building owner came in and threw the crew out, saying that they don'e discriminate. This, after just having been caught on camera discriminating.

Taxi, Sir
Both are on the street to hail a cab. The first cab drives right past the black guy and picks up the white guy, who is standing about 30 - 40 feet beyond the black guy.

Post-Mortem
The white guy was shocked. He couldn't believe that this was happening. He had no idea that this kind of racial discrimination was going on.
The black guy noted that it doesn't matter whether you dress in a suit and tie, it doesn't matter how you carry yourself or how you present yourself. People are making determinations that impact your life based solely on the color of your skin.

That is exactly what white privilege is. That's exactly what racism is. People do that all day--everyone, not just whites--and don't even realize it. That is the fabric of racism today. So many people continue to deny racism because they think it means lynching blacks or calling black people the N word, but today's racism is ignoring the black person while offering to help the white person. It's assuming the white person is honest, well-intentioned, innocent, while the black person is dishonest, malicious, and guilty--without even realizing it. Thanks so much for posting this video. I hope it helps shed light on what racism is today for many people who couldn't see it before.

Exactly. Because of previous institutionalized racism. I mean that it's more of a class issue today because we don't have the same amount of race-based restrictions to resources as, say, forty years ago. Most discrimination today (which I'd estimate is probably around 90% of discrimination) is based on credit scores, credit background, quality of education since childhood, income, and other factors related directly to class background rather than race. The only race now is green.

For example, how many people do we know of today who were rejected a job opportunity due to their race, and how many people do we know of who were rejected a job op due to having a poor credit background (as many employers are checking them these days)?

Most of it is money-based, but because of the high correlation between being black and poor, it ends up being discrimination against blacks too.

I think people get mad, because hispanics, african americans, any other race can pull the race card and get away with it but there is basically no such thing as racism against whites. You hear of hispanics pulling the race card about illegal immigration all the time but when 5 black teens jump an old white man race is never in question.
