Ask yourself, if this person was not a congressman would we be hearing about the trachiotemies and brain functions at the top of the hour every hour? I think not...
She was shot in the head at point blank range - and survived.
I can see where many people would be interested in following her recovery.
To whatever degree she may be functional as a Congresswoman in the future, and how she would deal with Congressional issues, is very interesting to me.
In the wake of what happened, i would think that most of us do want to know how she is doing, and there is Choice, don't like the news, change the channel. Gosh you could show a bit of compassion, you come across as cold.
I want a speedy receovery for her, don't know if this will happen, makes one think of just how many mentally ill people we have among us.
As with any news channel, if i don't like the news, i change the channel, not that hard to do!

A Congresswoman was shot and almost died, her recovery is certainly newsworthy.
Many Americans are shot and almost killed....
Many more are shot and died.
Who cares about them? Why is this person newsworthy? Because she's a politician? What about our Policemen and women who are killed defending us? They DESERVE national coverage too. A policeman is wounded in my city, the story gets coverage @ 11... that's it. No multiple daily updates, crap no updates at all...
Yes I feel bad for the politician who was shot, but deserving the daily intimate coverage? Sorry, don't like it.

The compassionate do care about those we do not hear about, at least i do, and more then sure there are many more who do. Everything is not news worthy just the way it is.
Am I the only one? Every time the news comes on we get the ghory details of the latest procedure they did to her. Really, I could care less. Tell us if she dies, otherwise, who cares.
I care and so do many others who hope this woman makes a complete recovery. As far as I'm concerned, they don't talk enough about this woman.
I'd much rather have more about Giffords progress than ANYTHING related to Palin, Limbaugh, and the rest of that ridiculous bunch.
