I'll ask again. If companies and private individuals can import less costly solar panels which are manufactured in China and then use the savings to invest and create jobs in other areas (thus lowering the unemployment rate), how is that a bad thing?

It's a bad thing if the government is artificially raising the cost of doing business here through anti competitive tax policy.

Meanwhile American corp execs and shareholders will be flying from their American 20,000 sq ft mansion to their other 25,000 sq ft mansion in China to check on their manufacturing progression.

First Solar seems to the the shining star here but they've had their mfg in China for some time.

First Solar was as great stock to own from 2006 to 2008.

If you read the article little if anything is said about taxes. In fact that government of Massachusets gave them $43 million in assistance. The most compelling reason for the move is the cost of labor and access to capital are super convenient terms and low interest rates are cited as the biggest reasons for the move.
