What if they didn't "earn" it any more than someone poor or even middle class who should have earned more but didn't?

But, more importantly, how does an economy function without redistribution of wealth? Or, do you believe that accumulation of wealth in fewer hands is a sign of stronger economy, that we should strive for?

So that's about what, $220,000?

So if you win $200,000,000 in MegaMillions or PowerBall, you would gladly turn over all but $220,000 to the government as iit is only fair?

The more I read posts on CD the more I realize many do not understand the way the tax system works.

It is set up to keep the money moving.

There is no limt to what I can make, just to what I keep.

So I invest.

If we actaully has distribtuion of weaqlth evenly why would anyone actaully bother accumalting it. That was the problem the siviets had;and meant that they had liitle goods avilable to the poor to teh poit that the elite had separate stores. Wealth represented by money is actually goods produced.

Lobbyiests are worthless unless they can steer their clients activity into the "good" activity.

I happened to see this yesterday and it really got me thinking about the ramifications of tax shelters for the super-wealthy and all.
I think that Mr. Ratigan's guest is really on to something here - who does pay for essential services when those with the largest liability pay less in taxes than those who make 400+% less?

How is NOT stealing over 30% of the wealth and property from American citizens viewed as redistribution? Does all our money and property belong to the federal government?

Your argument would be more credible if you applied it uniformly over all forms of taxes, tolls and tarrifs, at federal, state and local levels. Would you?
