There are exceptions. I know some black kids who did the same as you and came from very scary ghetto environments. They got really high scores without preparation and the same scholarships. Happens.
So much for Asian superiority. I for one am not impressed by the Asian model but commend Asians for their preference for high academic achievement. I don't see the superior intellect however, just a knack for one-dimensional focus that works well in academic settings.

The 2010 SAT college entrance test results are in. Historically, back in the day when I went to MIT, the common wisdom was that Asians scored better in math, but were disadvantaged because of the verbal scores.
