Chinese parents do not allow their children to go to a sleep over, play video games, have a play date, watch TV and more. American parents are okay with their children receiving a "B." Not so for Chinese parents.

That sounds absolutely terrible to me. How are those children suppose to learn how to connect with other people if their noses are always stuck in a book?
Now what exactly have Asian-Americans done that have been so fantastic? Nothing really. Asians have contributed by passing rigorous math tests and multiple choice exams. So what?

More than anything else it has to do with culture. Most Asian cultures place a higher value on education than modern American culture. In Asian culture great pride in taken by the ENTIRE FAMILY if a family member is exceptionally successful. This may or may not be true in other cultures. On the hand economic failure is looked upon as a failure and disgrace to the family.
On the other hand look at mainstream America, MTV's Sixteen and Pregnant, the mindless obession on material consumption etc. The reality is mainstream American kids are simply not taught to value academic achievement or education in the same way that children in Asian cultures are.
Oh please. This has nothing to do with "working harder," as if that is something to be proud of, we should all "work smarter." Standardized testing doesn't prove much. They are great automatons but that's it. Testing is done to stratify people into two categories i.e., good automaton versus bad automaton.
They do better in education, income and family structure.
But that, of course, is a foreign concept to liberals.
