Don't think you quite understand here. Just because the US is involved in foreign occupation of nations around the world, doesn't let China off the hook for all of its human abuses in the past and ongoing in the present day. Each nation is responsible for its own morality but to merely point to the US, and write our claims count for naught, is simply evading the responsibility to call them out on human rights issues. I personally believe PBO is a coward and doesn't want to confront China on the major issues between the two countries.

If the US is guilty of world aggression, and I believe they are, then let the Chinese call us out on it, don't write we have no ground because we may be involved in some of the same issues. It really gives the two nations common ground on which to discuss and settle those differences. Ignoring them as PBO does, only make things worse by creating an ongoing atmosphere of suspicion between the two nations and this is as unproductive as no discussion at all.

Cry me a friggin river Setsuko.

You need to get off your high horse and re-read this thread. Besides being a non-issue by what Rush said, there are a lot of Americans that care about what is going on within China....and what the current Administration has done to make the the United States much more dependent on China.

China is out to become the world's #1 power. The USA had the opportunity to remain great for longer than any nation in world history. Except, we got lazy and greedy. Following the so-called "Greatest Generation" we have been followed by generation after generation of lazy, greedy, godless people. People seeking instant gratification for virtually every hunger & temptation. People who have no shame in creating child after child out of wedlock. People with no shame of taking any government handout offered. As a nation we have gone from smart, strong & fit to fat, dumb & lazy by virtually any measure. Today's 21 year olds couldn't even begin to have the fortitude of the Greatest Generation, let alone those who in the 1850's were setting out across this nation to build & tame it. As we drown in a consumer-driven, sex-sodden lazy stupor, we are squandering virtually all of our history for instant gratification. Much like the son who inherits his father's business and then lives off the old man's hard work until there is nothing left. All of the substance abuse organizations say that the addict cannot begin to recover & rebuild until "hitting bottom". This nation will not begin to right itself until we finally hit bottom, which is coming.

I wouldn't exactly say I was fond of Keith Olberman, Chris Mathhews and Joy Behar. But they do speak for the left, correct?

Oh I feel so horrible for the poor, poor Chinese dictator who (when he gets home) will probably murder a few hundred political dissidents and kidnap a few hundred toddlers and toss them in gymnastics camp to compete in the 2020 Olympics.

Might be a real good dea to see how the average chinese peasant lives, because it might not be very long before we all live that same way. Of course we FAT Americans would rather die before living that way, but dieing won't be any problem.

That's true, but he's not the left-wing version of Rush Limbaugh. That would be Keith Olberman or Michael Moore.
