He didn't quit, MSNBC ended its contract with him. Olbermann had no say-so in the matter.
"MSNBC issued a statement that it had ended its contract with the controversial host, with no further explanation. Olbermann hosted the network's most popular show, but his combative liberal opinions often made him a target of critics."
I say he goes to FOX. Everyone is pointing out how arrogant Olbermann is and I can't think of a network with more arrogance. Only FOX would have an anchor baby as their anti-immigration spokesperson.
Keith isn't going anywhere else for awhile..
Quote:
MSNBC announced that “The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell” would replace “Countdown” at 8 p.m., with “The Ed Show” with Ed Schultz taking Mr. O’Donnell’s slot at 10 p.m. Mr. Olbermann did not discuss any future plans, but NBC executives said one term of his settlement will keep him from moving to another network for an extended period of time.
You people seem to think this is the end of him for some reason. He ain't exactly just going to fade away, as there are always outlets willing to bring him on board, whether tv or radio.
I just caught the end of his show and thought that is what happened.............too bad , I think the guy is one of the most vile despicable human beings to walk on this planet and cannot believe he ever made it out of high school with out having his genitals sewn to his tongue, however i think it is good for the other side for him to be on the air. Noticed his other half was not hosting today, must be grief stricken.

Maybe radio, but that is the same as fading away. Aside from local access, I don't see another cable channel picking him up.

Sure, Keith is going to resurface, but he had a contract through 2012. And many such contracts, depending upon the circumstances of the departure, have clauses which would prevent Olbermann from joining another network until the contract expires..
Keith would never stoop so low to sully his soul by going on Faux News, so you've nothing to worry about there.
