And all it takes is a shooting in Arizona + a flowery speech about civility and he's up again???

I got a bad feeling that he's gonna do two terms. Are independents that fickle????
This post is a classic example of exaggeration for effect. Nobody's working? Even if "real" unemployment is at 20% as some "economists" on C-D estimate, 80% of the labour force would still be working so please try that one again. As for being dumb, a simple look at the electoral map of 08' would have showed you which candidate the most highly educated areas of the country voted for. Also, the shooting in Arizona did not benefit anyone, but may have hurt those who were using aggressive rhetoric (see Palin). Lastly, why would Obama serving two terms be a bad thing? If you were trying to come across as an emotional teenager, then a job well done to you.

Agreed, except the part about aggressive language. Such language has been used by both sides and has been part of the political lexicon since the founding of our country. I see this as a less-than-genuine attempt to get some punches in on an opponent.

I'm not that fickle, but apparently many are.

I think he'll do another term also because of the reasons you stated about the electorate.

The GOP is the same party that tried to claim credit for the job growth in the last few months, despite the fact that it was before the new Congress started. If they have that much nerve to claim credit, after doing nothing but sit back and/or obstruct for 2 years, of course they'll have the nerve to blame everything on the Democrats if something goes wrong...

Takes one to know one, I guess. Oh, but you don't live here, do you?

This thread is hilarious! When you can't blame anyone else, always blame the media for "manipulating" us weak-minded, ignorant buffoons into enjoying:

1. The economy growing at 3.1%
2. A military liberated from bigotry
3. Extended tax cuts
4. The biggest health reform
5. The biggest financial reform to prevent this from happening again
6. Ending the war in Iraq and increasing pressure on the Taliban
7. Improved pay equity for women...

Seriously. The guy's not determined to destroy our country. He's actually done a pretty good job and if the elections were held a month later they would have still turned as all similar midterms do, but not to the degree they did.
