Well I don't believe the problem even lay with journalist, it is more to do with editors and those with the final say of what gets published and what gets viewed.
Three means the press uses to form the public mind.
1) repetition and the frequency of the repetition.
2) which stories get covered and which get buried or merely mentioned at 4am.
3) guests. If you are trying to show a pro-war view, you get three spiffy pro-war 'experts' and you find some geeky anti-war type and let the three beat up on him. To the viewer, even with the sound off, its obvious that whomever that geeky guy is they are weak and thus they should be dismissed.
In the case of the OP and the subject of Iran, lets not kid ourselves, Iran is a serious issue and is of serious concern. However when you listen to people at the CFR or most other groups of this caliber, there is an even measured discussion. Turn on the nightly news and instead of well measured you get stories about gay muslim pedophile paratroopers with nuclear hand grenades landing in Austin Texas asking for directions to the nearest school.
I am of the opinion that the media and press in this country are as dangerous as terrorist, as in the name of profit, they sensationalize and take advantage of human fears and create a bunker mentality of fearful people who beg for their government to protect and save them from mostly conjured nightmares. This is not the America I grew up knowing.
So would you say that most folks on the boards are mouth pieces, of mouth pieces, who are slaves to the all mighty dollar.
