First, Egypt blocked social networks like Facebook and Twitter. I had no trouble believing the Egyptian government would do that. But, when I first heard that Egypt had blocked the Internet (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110128/ap_on_bi_ge/ml_egypt_protest - broken link), I was inclined to doubt the stories. Since then though I’ve heard from a technically savvy source, Renesys, an Internet analytics firm, that Egypt really has blocked the vast majority of its Internet connections. In short, the Egyptian government has cut its people off from the Internet.

Yup..I posted this in Tn's thread about world instability.

No internet and Egypts counter-terrorism special elite forces are out quelling the crowds.
There's supposed to be major rallies tomorrow..at least that was the last bit of info the AP got before "the line went dead".

As I said in the other thread...PAY ATTENTION to what is going on.

Or sooner if you start seeing protests over government corruption, high unemployment, cut benefits, increasing poverty.

When in reality it's for their own protection. Just like they're doing in Egypt.
Do not let them communicate with each other.
Keep the people disconnected.

These are the type of events that history shows happens after a financial crisis like this. I wonder how long until this comes to the United States.

One hopes NEVER. Maybe Congress is paying attention ? Maybe our President is paying attention ?

When the people have nothing left to lose they lose it.

Maybe Gerald Celente was right when he said that. Marc Faber has a interesting take on Obama.

This would not happen in America so quit being alarmists. That is about the most absurd thing I have read yet on City Data.
