At the time, the Cold War was going on.

The thing is,the Cold War is over and has been for 20+ years.

The USA takes a LONG time to adapt to changing circumstances....

Thanks for the link.

If he thinks Mubarak is not a dictator, then you have to wonder at his definition of dictator.

I've been to Egypt, and along the highways in and out of Cairo are hundreds of posters of Mubarak (and it was not 'election' time).

However, I guess in the world of geo-politics you must observe 'formalities'. If your ally says he is not a dictator, then you smile and agree.

Why are people even listening to Joe Biden? The man has proven himself to be unqualified for his job.

I disagree about the Islamic Brotherhood; however, I am all for the Egyptians deciding their own fate with our meddling. We should not pick sides. Egypt is a soverign nation and it is up to the people to decide its fate. Not the U.S. are anyone else.

Let us remember, on this as on other threads:

"Never argue with a fool, for some people might not know the difference".

Which is a major comment on Palins qualifications when it was proven he was the better choice between VP candidates.

I agree 100%. I doubt what they will get out of this will be a democracy, far too many radicals in Eygpt. Heck one of them ran the 9-11 operation and many of them danced in the streets after the attacks. I hope they do the right thing but the middle-east being what it is it is not very likely.
