Will the U.S. experience be the same?... The Low wage working class working for nothing after getting a college education...
No, not to the same extent, because the general public here don't have the moral courage to put themselves in personal danger to stand up for what they believe in (if in fact they believe in anything). They will expect someone else to make the sacrifice, pay the price, but not themselves. The moral character and fiber of american people has been systematically destroyed to the point that they no longer have the will to resist enslavement. As our constitutional rights are steadily taken away, they will continue to zombie-out on football and American Idol and hope that it will all go away, until the knock comes on the door. The few that make a meaningful protest will be branded extremists, domestic terrorists, etc. The only step remaining is to disarm the public.

That's some dismal future we have to look forward to.

I do see a lot of apathy around me though so I fear you may be right.

This is what the Patriot Act is all about... Quieting anybody who wants to excercise their Constitutional Rights...

No. We should cut aid to other countries, period. We are only trillions of dollar in deficit. And this year's the king just revealed a budget that more than 25% of the cooked GDP.
