This seems like the way that all liberal professors at Left State U think. (What else do they have there?)

When the writer of this gem asked a liberal colleague if some conservative speakers shouldn't be hired the reply was "What do you want, Glenn Beck? That sounds to me like this man feared anything that far right but he would be very happy to have Jeremiah Wright speak to students.

Also, the author points out that those liberal profs seem to have the attitude that they have finally won the battle and since the students were listening to their conservative parents for 18 years it was now time for liberals to influence them for 4 years. I guess they don't count those first 10 or so years as kind of politically nothing for those kids.

The left are the most closed-minded people on this planet. It is sickening how so many young people like to be lied to, misled and filled with nothing but progressive propaganda. You would think they would wake up.

In the arena of ideas, the Liberals KNOW they cannot win because their ideas fly in the face of common sense.

Therefore they must stifle free speech and only allow one side of a given argument be heard.

"Fear" Glenn Beck? ROTFL!

More likely they didn't want "revisionist" history being taught by far right folks...........using Glenn Beck as an example. lol Now WHERE did you get the idea that Jeremia Wright would have been considered? Oh. You just made that up. Okay.

Perhaps it would help if you actually READ the article????

William Irvine is a professor of philosophy at Wright State University. He is one of the most courageous and honest professors in the country. Recently, he wrote a column concerning Wright State’s decision to invite the Reverend Jeremiah Wright to speak on his campus. Although he disagrees with many of Reverend Wright’s views, he publicly welcomed him to the campus because he believes that a university should be a marketplace of ideas. That view alone makes Irvine exceptional among today’s professoriate.

Of course, that ^^^^ is JUST YOUR OPINION, as usual. Do you have anything at all, any studies, any stats, anything to back up YOUR OPINION above? Of course you don't. It would be nice if you would qualify your declarative statements with "IMO" at least.

Idealism? Ever heard of idealism being a quality of youth?

It is not an article, it is an op'ed, big difference.

The posted article backs-up his opinion.

It's also true that there are many instances of radical left-wingers invited to speak at colleges while no conservatives are invited to make a counter point.

Or, if there actually IS a conservative speaker, they get shouted down or physically attacked.

As was pointed out, it is not an "article" but an op-ed. Just an opinion. That does not give validity to "His Opinion"....... I asked for studies, stats, etc.

Actually, there is NO difference.

But you can't seem to post anything of any other value so we'll allow it to go as unnoticed as it deserves.

Definition of ARTICLE

d : a nonfictional composition usually forming an independent part of a publication (as a magazine)
