Now answer the actual question.

What is the reason put forth by Congress for the waivers that have been issued to unions, and what specific elements of the legislation have been waived for them (and for how long)?
Not a lefty or a righty... just seems to make sense with any pre-existsing union agreements...

You are not the only one to notice this obnoxious pattern!

Since starting this thread there have been over 900 posts, IN 3 DAYS! Those who think that people have warmed up to this bill might want to rethink that.

I'm not sure anyone has brought up the 1099 debacle. Can you imagin a business having to file a form for all services and purchases that total $600 or more?

Examiner: Small business cheered yesterday as a bi-partisan vote in the Senate took place to repeal the 1099 requirement that was placed into the massive Healthcare bill passed last year. This requirement had been seen as a massive 'tax' on both people, and small businesses as it would have required anyone performing any transaction equaling or exceeding $600.00 to issue a 1099 form as part of the process.

The sheer cost of doing this, coupled with the cost many people would have to incur by hiring accounting help just to deal with this provision, could have burdened small businesses to the point that up to 40% would have had to close their doors, or layoff workers. -Continue reading on Examiner.com: Senate votes to repeal the 1099 requirement for business from Healthcare bill - National Finance Examiner | Examiner.com

This bills feathers are starting to be plucked. It is a bad bill that was rammed through with the oppositions hands tied. This bill is a product of an anti-transparent government and 100% partisan governing.

I take it you're going to continue twisting my words until kingdom come? This thread is not about illegal aliens.

On this board, the same people like that did before and visa versa. The change is occurring in the American public, they seem to be moving towards favoring it. This forum is just the hard core of both sides, none of which will change their opinions.

Payback for the millions of dollars they spent in 2008?

According to obama and his minions, THEY know best about the minimum amount of coverage a HC plan can provide, never mind that people are perfectly capable of making that decisions for themselves.

Since they set this arbitrary minimum, many employers would have to ditch their employees because the plan they offer, at the cost that is AFFORDABLE to the employee, doesn't meet obama's standard of coverage.

Right there, I'd say that's a federal takeover of the HC system - dictating to people and business what a bunch of no-nothing, clueless bureaucrats who've never run a business in their lives think should be a minimum standard.

So, in order for these people to not be thrown out of their HC plans (remember the, "if you like your plan, you can keep it"), they are given waivers so they CAN keep their plan...for a little while.

I don't know about you, but I detest the federal government setting standards and dictating to me what kind of HC is good for me and my family.

I think not. In fact, the latest poll from Kaiser Health, one the Left WAS enamored of, shows an increase of 9 points, to 50% of people that disapprove of the law.

Might have a little bounce in some polls, but NOW that it's been ruled unconstitutional, people are going to like it even less.

Small business hates the law;
