I disagree. The man was asking a question in a non hostel manner to his employee that the employee did not like and so would not answer.
It wasn't until the man was ignored that he decided to make a point. If it would have been a question that Reid had liked he would have been happy to answer and knowing Harry it would have been a long winded answer.
The man will probably not have the opportunity to ask the question again and should have been given an answer even if it was a simple "We will have to disagree"
Harry would prefer (as all politicians do) that questions are in a controlled setting and avoid opposing questions and points of view. Here when he was out of his protected circle he felt that the best way to defend his position is to ignore it. In his position and pay rate that is not what he was hired to do.

First he is/was not that man's employee. Second, even if he were an employee, he would have a "day off" now and then, don't you agree? Or are you of the opinion that elected officials NEVER have any time off from work, that they are not allowed private time to shop, eat, sleep, etc?

How much do you want to bet that they will do some background research on that shopper, and within a day or two his name will be smeared to the public, like they did when Joe the Plumber confronted Obama on "spread the wealth"?

There certainly should be some background investigation on that person. Someone causing a scene in a grocery store with a Senator over politics is NOT NORMAL. Confronting a politician who is "off the clock and doing personal shopping" in such a dramatic way certainly would lead "normal people" to think that possibly the person was mentally unstable......especially after the Giffords shooting. Btw, Joe the Plumber WELCOMED the attention and made money off his few minutes in the spotlight after President Obama CHOSE to speak with him.

Going nuts in a grocery store and causing a scene by confronting a politician in a very dramatic and unruly manner is absolutely something unusual and abnormal. I'm not surprised Reid was freaked out. He had no idea whether or not this person had a gun and would perhaps shoot him!!

What would you do if someone from your job confronted YOU about YOUR WORK in the grocery story, accusing you of not doing your job, and causing a scene? Call the police? Yes, I'd bet you would, and you would call them in a heartbeat.

Who is propagandized? Your closet full of wing nuts is propagandized. From birthers to amnesiac deficit hawks to WMD/Invade Iraq wackos to Secessionist ultra-two faced ranters.

Propagandized? I don't think that word means what YOU think it means.

And as far as propaganda and your rant on climate change...here is your game, set, match winner:

Science vindicated as Senate edges closer to climate and energy debate | Grist

Get back to me when you get your latest talking points propaganda.
Hmmm.....

WASHINGTON -- As he prepares to lead Senate Democrats in the debate on President Bush's Iraq policy, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada says he has no second thoughts about his vote in 2002 authorizing the president to go to war.

"The evidence at the time was persuasive -- especially if you go back and look and see what Secretary of State Colin Powell did at the United Nations," Reid said Tuesday.

I don't know whether to believe this story or not. Apparently just the one source, with the story being reprinted, word for word, on various 'blogs'.

But, hey, if you see it on your computer screen, it must be true.

Aah, the conservative mind... never ceases to amuse.
So.....we have to wait for OUR elected officials to give us permission to ask questions of them?

When you say that you would "put that lunatic in his/her rightful place", what exactly are you saying? That you would chastise them for having the audacity to question a public official or would you defend dingy harry?

Oh, the liberal mind....never ceases to amuse!

Yes, as a rule, we do wait for the appropriate time to ask questions of our elected officials. Confronting them in grocery stores on their "time off from work" is not appropriate and in fact seems pretty strange.....perhaps mentally unstable. However, it surely would attract attention; maybe that's what the nut who confronted Reid wanted. Seems like that person has some serious impulse control issues as well as anger issues, if the story is true.

There are numerous ways to question our/your Senators and Representatives. Via US mail, via email, attend local political events put on by your elected official which are meant for questions, etc. etc.

I think you should get over this idea that these people are specifically YOUR EMPLOYEES. The only say you really have is with your vote, and via political campaigns to get the person elected or defeated in an election. You do not get to micromanage their day-to-day activities. Only lobbyists can try to do that. LOL

Seriously, you not not "the boss" of an elected official any any terms other than getting them elected or defeated in an election. So, try to get over that idea that you are the "boss" and they are your "employees" who will answer to your every concern every time you have a personal issue with them.

Good point. I found it odd that in the story Reid's security people did nothing but watch, especially after the Giffords shooting having happened so recently.
