Islam is the religious equivilent of the Post Office. It can only survive if it is given a monopoly and no other religious views are allowed. We see time and again that when people are given a choice they will leave Islam, even though it means risking a death sentence from other Muslims.
People can argue over which religion is the true religioun but if a religion forbids leaving it and kills anyone for criticizing it then that's a pretty good indication that its not the true one. They think that by killing this man they are making their religion stronger and they may intimidate some people in to staying Muslim but to the larger world they are just showing how bankrupt their belief system is.

There is no First Amendment in Afghanistan. They can REQUIRE by LAW people to be any religion they want. In this case, it ain't Christianity.

Islam has a very high conversion rate in Christian countries. How do you account for that?

If you mean Europe, I hardly consider them Christian any more. They exist in a post-Christian Human Secularist society.
Here is an excellent chart about conversion rates (if you have really good eyesight or a zoom feature on your computer).
Global statistics for all religions: 2001 AD

Islam's conversion rate is not very high. Most growth in the number of Muslims in the world comes from high birthrate (and then there's the little part about leaving the religion drawing a death sentence).

With the exception of the conversion rate in US prisons. It is actually pretty high.

What part of international law don't you understand? The Holocaust was legal in Germany, but allied forces still bombed them for it.

I don't think that allied forces bombed anyone because of the Holocaust. The bombed Germany to stop the invasion of German forces into their countries (Germany wanted to take over the world, you know).

Even the German PEOPLE did not know what was truly happening in the "work camps" that had been created for the Jews and the other non-Aryan prisoners there. It was not until these camps were liberated by American soldiers that the horrors were discovered. Of course, the SS and German army knew what was going on (they were running the camps, after all).

Even so, human rights is a very subjective thing. As long as the US has some kind of financial interest in the country, we are all for sticking our nose into the human rights issue, but if the country is poor and there is no possibility for financial gain, we tend to look the other way...Darfur, Rwanda, and many other nations as an example.
