Happy them's fightin' words...... How did you get to shoot a 30-40 gatlin gun? That just sets me off LOL Mac
I think you just ruined my whole day........
I was fifteen years old. The gentleman who owned it decided to bring it out for my benefit as he was really impressed by my interest in it as well as my general knowledge of guns. The owner was a retired professor of English who was charmed by the fact that he had been born on Oct. 26th, 1881. That day, as we all should know, saw a rather famous gunfight at Fly's Photo Shop. Most people identify it by a neighboring business, the OK Corral.
I am aware that the movie was was a historical travesty; but I love the theme song. The gunfight certainly proves that gun control doesn't work.
We not only should be allowed, but effectively are allowed, to own whatever we can afford. It works the same way with both individuals and government. No one bothered Teddy Kennedy for constantly transporting machineguns across state lines for his bodyguards. He certainly never bothered to get permission. But it would be hard for an individual to develop a nuclear weapons collection. That would probably even strain Bill Gates.

I'm come to the conclusing that you have a fetish for guns and that "owning" these guns just plays into a deeper fantasy role to satisfy your fetish.

................. and why should that be any of your buisness?
Shooting guns is alot of fun. I have taken several "anti-gun" people out shooting who really enjoyed themselves.
For those interested in history, it is interesting to observe first hand the relative advantages and disadvantages of weapons used by either side in military conflict. Further, it is interesting to evaluate the current military weapons and optics as compared to ww2 era weaponry.
Machine guns are alot of fun. However, despite class 3 weapons license, some states prohibit the ownership of machine guns. Full auto weapons are really not very useful, unless tripod mounted heavy machine guns, as there is too much "walk" with full auto. That is why the military went to three shot bursts with the M-4. Spraying lead is just a good time. I am 50 and do not feel the need or want to be percieved as "macho" from gun ownership or use. It is just a good hobby and interesting to me, regardless of what anyone else thinks.
In some circles it is appropriate when you disagree to call the other person a racist. I guess maybe in this circle is is appropriate to accuse the other person of having a fetish.
If you can't win with logic, or sanity, go for insults
