The next target, soon to get attention and character assassination from the Progressives...

Donald Trump.

He told everyone what they wanted to hear last night.

Is he the real deal, or a secretive backstabbing crony?

He'll be branded as a rich white guy that hates minorities and just uses them to make money.

Whether or not it's true is irrelevant.

As I support Progressive Politics I will state than Mr. Trump is nothing but a very successful tyrannical corporatist with a strong desire to be King of America. Anyone wanting a "strong" leader will love him and anyone believing in liberty will fear him.

I would settle for just calling him what he is, an egomaniacal pompous ass.

Do you think he can carry the social conservatives in the R party over another candidate? I think that's where the real issue is.

That's my point exactly. I don't think the R's need to worry about the D's with Trump--he doesn't exactly play well to the family values crowd let alone worrying about opposition from the D's. The R primary could get pretty bloody, and they're capable of doing most of the damage to themselves.

Obama managed to unite the different factions of the Dem's and moderates. If the R's can find someone who'll unite their different factions in the same way, they could win, but I just don't see it, because the divides are too deep. The R establishment can't really stand the libertarians or the social conservatives, and those two groups don't like each other much either. All three of them compose a big chunk of the R party, and then you have to worry about winning the more more moderate swing voters. They have a real balancing act on their hands.

I think Paul needs to scream and yell, and that may be his most important role--holding the rest of the R's accountable, and raising issues. The establishment R's don't want that voice out there challenging them, so now we're seeing them slam him. Like I said, it could get interesting.
