Been posting basically the same message from the very beginning of the protests.

That the USA should ALWAYS support democracy and freedom.
Once the protests started Obama made it quite clear he supported the Protesters and was calling for Mubarak to support the reforms.

Yup, if someone believes in the concept of freedom and democracy then they should BELIEVE that the concepts apply to EVERYONE - not just THEMSELVES. Anything else is just self-serving BS spoken by a closet tyrant.

If Mubarak didn't step down chances are it would have. Obama did threaten to cut off the aid.

Enough with the empty insults. I really don't understand your position. You need to start providing evidence for your claims. Best I can tell, you think Obama's weak for not picking a team and pushing for that team. The rest of us feel this is Egypt's revolution and it's wisest to step back, offer support for reform, and see what it becomes. We are now providing funding for that political transition to serve the people's will.

Here is part of what Obama said immediately after the protests erupted:

Quote:
The people of Egypt have rights that are universal. That includes the right to peaceful assembly and association, the right to free speech, and the ability to determine their own destiny. These are human rights. And the United States will stand up for them everywhere.

Quote:
But we've always been clear that there must be reform: political, social, and economic reforms that meet the aspirations of the Egyptian people. In the absence of these reforms, grievances have built up over time.

I'm sorry, but I really don't think you understand what's happening nearly as much as you think you do.

Through healthy government people have control and power. The size and scope is a more minute detail. They are not mutually exclusive. For example, the French have a very large government infrastructure but are still represented and have a voice in how much or little government they would like in their economy and lives.

So to show support for freedom and democracy, the Obama admin didn't cut off military aid to Egypt,or do anything beyond hollow gestures.

That IS inspiring.

From the start of the Protests to Mubarak stepping down it took 2 and a half weeks. Threats were made to cut off the aid. The U.S showed strong support for the Protesters and Democracy in Egypt short of going to war pretty much showed that.
