"Democrats and Republicans sternly warned the Obama administration on Thursday that it must prevent the Muslim Brotherhood from taking power in Egypt. Lawmakers in both parties fear that if the Islamic group gained power, a longtime U.S. ally in the toughest neighborhood in the world could be lost. 'Engaging the Muslim Brotherhood should not be on the table,' warned House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairwoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.)."

Lawmakers fear fallout from Egypt crisis - TheHill.com

Meanwhile Obama continues his university tour to grab voters with no stake in the economy, yet, but is anyone wondering why he chose a Michigan University at this particular time? Considering the large population of Muslims in that state was it calculated to coincide with what's happening in the Middle East? Also, anyone plugged into those hearings with the Intelligence heads? Anyone hear Clapper (National Director of Intelligence) claim the Muslim Brotherhood is largely secular? Then do a White House oopsie after hearing the backlash?

"The Obama administration took the rare step Thursday of correcting its own intelligence chief after the official claimed Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood is 'largely secular.' Director of National Intelligence James Clapper discussed the Islamist group during a hearing on Capitol Hill earlier Thursday. He testified that the organization has 'pursued social ends' and a 'betterment of the political order,' and downplayed its religious underpinnings. 'The term 'Muslim Brotherhood' ... is an umbrella term for a variety of movements, in the case of Egypt, a very heterogeneous group, largely secular, which has eschewed violence and has decried Al Qaeda as a perversion of Islam,' Clapper said."

Why should anyone care? It's out of our hands. They will do what they do, regardless of how much we want one outcome or another.

A famous chef once said:

"Either the souffle will rise, or it won't. There's not a damn thing you can do about it."

Prevent how? By denying democratic elections and installing a puppet leader in Egypt? Egyptians will have elections and they will elect their leaders. I don't think they will elect MB, but you never know.

As evidenced by Mubarak's own words in his speech, we already influenced his decision to stay.

This is the Muslim Brotherhood whose motto brays that the Koran is its law and jihad is its way. The MB whose Palestinian branch, the terrorist organization Hamas, was created for the specific purpose of destroying Israel — the goal its charter says is a religious obligation. It is the organization dedicated to the establishment of Islamicized societies and, ultimately, a global caliphate. It is an organization whose leadership says al-Qaeda’s emir, Osama bin Laden, is an honorable jihad warrior who was “close to Allah on high” in “resisting the occupation.” The same leader who insists that “the history of freedom is written not in ink [i.e., constitutions] but in blood [i.e., jihad].”

He can say he's staying all he wants. In the end, it's not his or our decision if he will.
