That is the problems with the picture painted by liberals. No one wants to see women subjected to horrible back alley abortions. However, we do want women and their sexual partners to be more responsible so that the unwanted children are never conceived to begin with.

In this day and age where contraception control is so widely available to men/women and minors of any age, and socially accepted, there is simiply no reason for abortion to be used as a form of birth control outside of the most extreme of circumstances. Abortion should be the exception rather than the norm, IMO. Obviously YMMV.

That was stupid actually.....and I'm all for Women's Rights.

It's complete hyperbole to say Republicans want to force women to get abortions in some back alley just because they don't want TAXPAYER funding of abortions.

MoveOn is famous for that kind of garbage which insults people's intelligence.

And I might agree with you.

Right up to the point where you grant the State power to make medical and reproductive decisions for people.

And then I won't.

If I'm not mistaken much of the opposition conservatives have to UHC is because they claim that it gives the government too much power over an individuals health care decisions.

Now you want the government to to decide when abortion is appropriate.

They already do!

Late Term abortions are illegal.

And that differs from the HHS setting medical treatment protocol under Obamacare how?

How is abortion for a healthy fetus in a healthy woman a "medical treatment"? There is no disease being treated as pregnancy is a normal and temporary condition. It is an invasive medical procedure, traumatic to both the woman and the life within her being forceably killed and removed, but as a "treatment" when the woman and fetus are both healthy? No, I don't see that.

While I do know that it's the minority of cases, problem is, there are times where contraceptives do fail.

However, oftentimes with contraceptive failures, it is operator error, which is why I support comprehensive contraceptive education.

Yes I realize that...

My point is that conservatives claim to want less government control...except when it comes to abortion, etc.
