The people of Wisconsin did elect the Fascist governor but money talks and the Koch brothers have a big voice....corporations backing their close personal friends....google the Koch brothers.....it may open your eyes as to what is really going on...and the repugs can kneel , kiss their ring and lick their boots....
I'm sure a lot will. They learned from the best (Soros).
Blah, more crap. Let me break it down AGAIN. Walker gave reduced the corporate tax rate to help bring businesses back to the state. Tax rates lowered+business coming back=more revenue for the state. That created a projected budget shortfall, but Walker CAMPAIGNED on these changes he was going to make in regard to spending. He is following through with what he said he was going to do, as he should. This would have happened even if he hadn't cut the taxes. I wasn't here for the campaigning so I don't know what all of his promises were, but I doubt it ends with asking teachers to contribute more to their pensions and HC. Just wait and see.
How did the Union take down the airline? I am guessing the airline did an merger with another airline to get out of paying pension, etc.......
It didn't. I worked for Eastern at the time, non union, it was the excesses of Management as well as very lucrative Union contracts. The Union contracts, however, were in line with the other Airlines. But, as a Salaried Employee, I was allowed to write my own tickets for flights. Actually had my own ticket book, and was not restricted to business travel, nor required to repay the Company. That type of Management excess is what brought that Company down. Kind of reminds me of Wall Street today.
Two points struck me. No Child Left Behind was totally ineffective for this improving this problem and the achievement of students was highly correlated with race.
Why should public employees be allowed to collectively bargain? It is a concept ludicrous on its face in this war of the Parasite Class vs Productive Class
I agree, they should not have the right to bargain like this. Unions should not even exist anymore. But Walker did try to work it out with them before he brought the budget to the assembly for voting. At this point, it's either accept the benefit changes or lay off 6000 people. They can take their pick. I would start with firing all those who walked out on their classrooms over the last three days, then see how many still need laid off.
You cannot say an election was held and we should blindly uphold the policies of the winner unless you practice what you preach! Many happen to believe that Scott Walker's policies are horrible for WI.
But this is exactly the position he ran on and on.
