Nicholas D. Kristof At the main hospital in Bahrain, I interviewed doctors who said they treated about 600 injured. I saw 3 dead in morgue with gunshot wounds. Interviewed ambulance drivers/paramedics who said they were beaten for trying to treat the injured. Hospital says government has barred ambulances from going out on calls. The hospital scene breaks my heart
Bareed, we appreciate you posting on the situation in Bahrain. As you know, Bahrain is an American ally. So it grieves us that the government has resorted to these measures, and moreover, that it has publicly offered up a different version of events. The government has stated that they tried to negotiate with the protesters before the attack, warning them, so that some protesters would leave Pearl Square. International reporters have debunked that version, pointing out that the 3am attack was when people were asleep and there would be little resistance.
If I may ask, have you had any difficulties with your internet connections or other methods of communicating?
I don't know what you want us people here in the west to do pretty much if you want democracy and freedom you are going to have to fight for it yourselfs.
we can't help you in all of this so all I can say is goodluck and be careful

The OP told us what to do to help them in the first post. To spread the pictures, to spread the word. Even if we cannot physically fight alongside them, we can be there in spirit. When you wished the OP good luck, you were encouraging them in their fight. That's what they are asking for, our support, our encouragement, and for us to know that they are fighting. Just knowing that the world knows validates their protests.
I'm Bahraini, and i am trying to update western peoples about what happened in Bahrain.
