Actually Black enrollment decreased over an 8 year period. Hrmmm. Wonder what that's all about.

Who cares about education anyway... everyone gets to go to school...right?

The border states of California, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona join Kentucky and Mississippi for holding the dubious distinction of having the largest percentage of residents who have failed to complete the ninth grade. More than ten percent of California residents have less than a ninth grade education.

State Education Rankings: Graduation Rates for High School, College, and Grad/Professional School - Associated Content from Yahoo! - associatedcontent.com

California - 2010 population: 37,253,956 ..chop off a zero and

3,725,395 people with less than a 9th grade education....

Isn't that interesting.

Good Lawd, you felt the need for the daily "Minority/Black" thread that you didn't even comprehend your own link.

Simple math, look at the percentages. You do realize there are MORE hispanics in the U.S than Blacks

These types of threads are the reason I try to stay clear of this darn forum.

Hispanic-Americans are the future of American political leadership.

The increase in the Latino population guarantees this.

Blacks and whites can't possibly hope to keep up in the immigration/ birth rate game that Latinos are mastering.

I can't understand why the Republican party keeps alienating the very people they will come to depend on in the next 10 to 20 years (Hispanics).

it'd be fascinating to witness i think. i wonder how color politics would be affected because some hispanics are milky white with sandy hair, others are brown as anything and plenty are cafe au lait, caramel, etc

I find it interesting that people want English as a defnite language for the USA...and in 40 years, the majority of the population will be Hispanic, if their popution growth retains it's current volition. That'd be like requiring Japanese people to speak the Ainu language.

You know those signs in other countries, where an English translation is on the bottom? One day, Spanish is gonna be on top, and English will be on the bottom. People are ignoring this great shift in the political game, for some reason. Maybe they want to deny it exists.

We have got to stop the illegal immigration. I saw a video of Mexicans in Cali where they run over the border and put their kids on the schoolbus b/c by law we can't deny them schooling and the American kids can't get on the bus.

We will stop "illegal" immigration the day after we balance the Federal Budget and pay off the last of our Federal Debt.
